Associate Professor Craig Hassed OAM has been working within the Faculty of Medicine at Monash University since 1989.

Dr Craig Hassed has been instrumental in introducing a variety of innovations into medical education and practice with an emphasis on the application of holistic, integrative and mind-body medicine in medical practice and reconnecting different knowledge systems, e.g. medical science and philosophy, in a way which is grounded, balanced, scientifically valid and clinically effective.

Dr Craig Hassed is renowned as a pioneer for the use of mindfulness meditation within the medical world and beyond. Not only does he teach his students to use it within their medical practice, but he also encourages mindfulness for their personal use as a means of reducing stress and promoting focus during exams and study.
